In the “Preferences” window, from the Accounts tab click on the “+” button located in the bottom right hand corner
You will be prompted with the following welcome screen. Fill out your Full Name, email address and password. When you have filled in each field press continue
In the next panel you will be asked for further information recording the Incoming Mail Server
For Account Type choose POP
Enter a Description such as SplashDev
Enter mail.splashdevelopments.com.au as Incoming Mail Server
Enter your full email address as the User Name
Enter your email account password
When you have completed all the fields press Continue
You will be asked to specify details about mail security. This step is important and should not be skipped. Check Use Secure Socket Layer (SSL) and ensure authentication is set to password. When you have completed all the fields press Continue.
The next section is about the Outgoing Mail Server.
Again put a description such as SplashDev-SMTP
Set Outgoing Mail Server to mail.splashdevelopments.com.au
Check Use Only This Server
Check User Authentication
Enter your full email address as the User Name
Enter your email account password
When you have completed all the fields press Continue
You will be asked to specify details about Outgoing mail security. This step is important and should not be skipped. Check Use Secure Socket Layer (SSL) and ensure authentication is set to password. When you have completed all the fields press Continue.
The Account Summary screen should appear as follows. If the settings below (apart from your user name) are not the same as what you see on your screen, press Go Back and make them the same. Press Continue in each previous step until you get back to the screen below. Check Take account online and then press Create.
